In Novemer composer Bright Sheng, accompanied by his wife Pam, returned to the Twin Cities for a brief visit.  He reaffirmed his interest in the Dream Project and had already hearing new melodies in his mind that would be appropriate for some of the principals of the opera.

Ming Tchou, our President, hosted a sumptious luncheon for Bright and Pam in her apartment. Many friends, some who were not able to meet Bright in the summer, came to meet him.  There was a spirited discussion on who, between the two principal characters, Lin DaiYue and Xue Baochai, was Bright’s personal favorite?  The answer remains to be known!
