At the invitation of Luce Line Brewing Company in Plymouth, CHF Friends co-hosted a celebration of Chinese Lunar New Year for the first time at the Brewery on January 21, 2023.

Showcasing many of the traditions of the Chinese New Year, we were greeted by a fantastic turnout. Families with young children crowded around tables learning to make Chinese dumplings, porcelain medallion-necklaces, colorful Beijing opera masks and festive paper lanterns. Older children (and grownups) eagerly wrote out their English names and watched as they were translated into Chinese and written out in flowing calligraphy on bookmarks.

For entertainment there was a Lion Dance as well as a Tai Chi demonstration; and to go with the assorted beverages there was even a Chinese food truck! There was indeed something for everyone and every age group! It was nice to see so many grandparents coming with grandchildren in tow, and everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. We look forward to returning next year!
